Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction (Coordinator)
The Institute for International Conflict Resolution and Reconstruction (IICRR) at Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland, was launched by then US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2012. It brings together authoritative analysis of the Northern Ireland peace process with expertise on the international politics of regions in conflict and in post-conflict rebuilding, including Africa, Central Asia, South Asia, and the former Soviet space. Research on thematic issues include violent political extremism on the internet, mediation, gender equality, and development-security linkages. DCU offers taught programmes at BA and MA level and a PhD programme in conflict resolution. DCU has a strong focus on the post-Soviet region and also on the Middle East and Africa. We work with key civil society partners and governments so that our evidence-based knowledge is both relevant and accessible to those involved in practice. Dublin City University itself is a young institution, which has been consistently ranked in the top 50 universities worldwide under 50 years of age (QS ranking).
