Higher School of Economics (Высшая Школа Экономики)
Founded in November 1992, by a group of well-regarded Russian economists, the Higher School of Economics (HSE) was created to support the new Russian reformist government plans.
Known locally as ‘Вышка’, or the Watchtower, the HSE is one of Russia’s highest rated, and one of the largest Universities, spanning across four campuses in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Nizhniy, Novgorod and Perm. In addition to specialising in Economics and the Social Sciences, the University enjoys specialization across more than twenty diverse departments.
The Faculty of Applied political science boasts expertise in democratization, regime change, post-communist and post-soviet development and theories of transition.
