
Founded in 1987 as the All-Union Public Opinion Research Centre, the Levada Centre is a leading Russian pollster. Since 2003 it has operated as an NGO, and remains the country’s leading independent research institution of its kind.
Based in Moscow, the centre conducts research in the fields of sociology, economy, psychology and marketing. It works with the network of 67 regional polling organisations and maintains partnerships with centers of public opinion research in the CIS and Baltic countries. It performs regular public opinion surveys across the country, with polling results and commentary widely covered by national and international media including Kommersant, Vedomosti, Gazeta.ru, the Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Reuters, BBC Radio, Radio Liberty.
With an approximate of 50 people in the Moscow office, 80 fieldwork supervisors working out of regional branches, and about 3000 trained interviewers, it is today one of the largest full-service research agencies in Russia.
